Although President Trump continues to make claims about voter fraud, for the foreseeable future, Joe Biden will be the next President of the United States. With that in mind, here are some of Biden’s plans for his presidency.
Coronavirus:
Wanting to implement this immediately, Joe Biden plans to reinstate the White House National Security Council Directorate for Global Health Security and Biodefense. This council monitors health risks around the world. He also wants to ensure that health decisions are made by health professionals and not unqualified politicians. Joe Biden promises to have free nationwide testing, as well as provide daily reports of all the Covid-19 testing for the previous day. Biden also wants to get rid of any costs related to Coronavirus treatment, whether the person is insured or not. Additionally, he promises to guarantee paid leave for those infected, caring for virus patients, or those immune-compromised. Globally, Biden wants the U.S. Agency for National development to help nations fight the virus, as well as have the U.S. play a larger role in global decisions regarding the virus.
Jewish Community and Israel
Joe Biden also promises to reinstate funding to address domestic extremism. He promises to notice all Anti-Semitic acts as hate crimes. Additionally, he promises to appoint leaders in the Department of Justice who will make prosecuting hate crimes their priority. Regarding Israel, Biden plans on helping Israel and Palestine make peace as well as ensure that the U.S. helps Israel to maintain a high-quality military. He also plans on furthering the United States’ collaborations with Israel regarding economy and technology.
Climate Change
When he becomes President, Joe Biden plans to re-enter the U.S. in the Paris Climate Accord that was made in 2015. On day one of his presidency, he plans to require limits for methane gas in oil and gas corporations. He also wants to enforce that certain types of vehicles should run on electricity instead of gas. To ensure the well-being of the planet, Biden also intends on creating ARPA-C or the “Advanced Research Projects Agency.” This specific agency would focus on climate and new technology. Some of the technologies include air conditioning with refrigerants that have no potential of spreading global warming and using carbon dioxide from power plant emissions to make different products.
Economy and Jobs
Regarding the economy, Joe Biden plans on raising corporate income tax for those who make more than $400,000 a year. Biden also promises to create five million new jobs through different investments directed at businesses. He proposes a “Made in America Plan” which would put 400 billion dollars into domestic manufacturing.
We do not know what will occur these next four years, but we should have some sort of idea of how they will play out. Even knowing a few of Joe Biden’s promised plans are important for us to know. The plans of our soon to be leader will affect us.
