The behind the scenes opportunities that Beth Tfiloh athletics has taken advantage of in the past few years must not be overlooked. Every team, from basketball to tennis has an Instagram page that can keep any student or fan engaged in the team’s success. BT highlights have been featured on bigger Baltimore sports pages, and players and coaches’ awards have made their way onto written publications. But the one thing BT athletics is yet to include is a podcast. That changes now.
The king of BT sports is varsity basketball, with the Weiner tournament and high-stakes atmosphere expressed throughout the season, the boys team is always at the pinnacle of conversation among the students. Nobody embodies the spirit of BT athletics more than the varsity coach, Ari Braun. This makes Coach Braun the perfect person to co-host this podcast. Every week, Coach and myself, Michael Mirskiy, will give alumni, teachers, and students an exclusive look into BT athletics.
In this podcast, titled BT Sports Insider, Coach and I will dive deep into the athletic scene at BT. Braun claims that this is an “opportunity for alumni to stay connected” with their contribution as guests and listeners on the show.
The best part of all of this: it is entirely student-run. Aside from Coach Braun and I, team correspondents from around the BT community will be featured to give recaps on the teams progress. Additionally, the production and editing of the show will also be student-oriented. Coach points out that it is a great chance “to have more students involved in the athletic program.”
